I would go absolutely nuts for this piece of equipment. My gear-senses are going off the radar just looking at it. Apparently it’s a working condition, Tandberg TD-20A 4-track reel-to-reel recorder from the 1980s. It’s currently going on eBay for £399.99 or best offer. It also comes with 30-or-so tape reels — I love how they apparently all have “electro-pop from around 1983 on them”!

Remember Microsoft’s recent marketing ploy, made with a bunch of fairly-lame viral videos, which encouraged people to hold Windows 7 ‘launch parties’?

Well, this one is much better.

How Will You Create The Universe is an outrageously loveable short film which was directed by Encyclopedia Pictura. If you recall the music video for Bjork’s Wanderlust, well this was made by the same people. You will know then to expect nothing short of incredible imagery, colour and vibe. This spot was inspired by, and is a new take on life and evolution simulated video games. It was a labor of love, animated by the wonderfully talented staff at Tippett Studios in Berkeley, CA.

All the characters are CG, modeled and painted after drawings by Daren and Isaiah. The swarms are particle simulations, with creatures exported from a game and attached as sprites. The backgrounds are all digital matte paintings, created by Isaiah and Daren.
